I first discovered breathwork in 2019 during lock down in The US, I was supposed to be there for my yearly two month visit which turned into a 9 month stay. I initially started with the Wimhof method and started delving deeper into pranayama and meditation because of the profound positive impact breathwork and mindfulness practice started having on my life.
My yoga Asana journey only started later around 2021, I was having severe and debilitating neck and shoulder pain due to being a tattoo artist for 20 plus years. A friend of mine and my now mentor Johlene introduced me to hotpod yoga, and the rest is history, as they say.
From the first class the powerful connection between breath which I was already practicing and movement guided me in a direction of practicing yoga daily, sometimes twice daily, the benefits of which are truly life changing.
In 2022 I did a 40 hour breathwork facilitator course through yogalap.
I just recently did my 200 hour teacher training at Hotpod yoga Pretoria in vinyasa.
I no longer live with constant pain and my experience of daily life is so enriched. My love and appreciation for the yoga practice is something I now wish to share with others through breathwork and Asana.
I am also excited too share that I will be continuing my training in 2025 through Shakti yoga academy in Johannesburg.
I hope to see you all on your matts while we share this sacred space together.
