Types of Classes
-
The basic/beginner classes are for those beginning their yoga journey or for students wanting to deepen their practice and their connection to Self. These classes focus on stretching and gaining flexibility of the body while calming the mind through the breath and relaxation.
-
This basic/gentle class focuses on awareness and a more meditative approach to yoga. There is less emphasis on precise body postures and more on adapting to suit the individual’s body with its unique strengths and weaknesses. The class is suitable for people who have had little or no exposure to yoga, as well as those with physical and/or psychological issues, provided they remain under the care and supervision of their medical or other professional health practitioner. As this class is a quiet, slow approach it can be helpful for those experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout, etc. Once a month (on the first Thursday of each month) a Yin Yoga class is presented. This encourages relaxation in postures, often with the help of props. Postures are held for a longer period and quiet internalisation of awareness is encouraged.

Vinyasa yoga is all about movement. This yoga style is often known as flow yoga or vinyasa flow, due to its poses that move seamlessly from one to the next using the breath. It takes its name from the word ‘nyasa’, which means ‘to place’ and ‘vi’, which means ‘in a special way’. The flowing nature of this yoga style essentially means moving the body in a special way. Each class is unique, with sequences designed to help you move with your breath, inhaling and exhaling
